Small is
the design
Every vest trades coverage against the hours it is actually on the body. Most vests are built for maximum coverage, and that is why they stay in the locker or the boot.
The VEP LITE takes the other route. It covers the centre of chest and back: heart, lungs and upper stomach, front and back identical. At 1.3 kg it stays on for the whole shift, including every shift where nothing happens.
Weight, one universal size and no bulk: that is what turns a vest you own into a vest you wear.
A vest that covers more but gets left in the car covers nothing.

FAQ
Does the VEP LITE stop rifle rounds?
No. NIJ IIIA is a protection level against handgun ammunition up to .44 Magnum. If you need rifle protection, you need a different product with ballistic plates.
Why is the panel so small?
Because the size is the reason it gets worn. The 25 × 30 cm panel covers heart, lungs and upper stomach, front and back. It was tested on exactly this panel size.
Which size do I need?
There is one universal size. The vest adjusts with hook-and-loop closures at the shoulders and sides and sits close to the body.
Will it show under a shirt?
It lies flat and adds very little bulk. Under very tight or thin, light-coloured clothing the outline may show. For light shirts we recommend white or beige.
How much does the VEP LITE cost?

Can the vest be built to company spec?
Yes. Because VEP manufactures in-house, wrap-around protection, your own colours, marking such as SECURITY or STEWARD, embroidery, MOLLE and other changes are possible. More about custom builds.

Yes. Full test reports are available on request.
How long does the panel last?
The manufacturer gives a 10-year warranty on the ballistic panel and 2 years on the outer shell.
